The Opportunity
The legal Specialist provides expert legal counsel to university administration on a wide range of issues, including contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, policy development, and intellectual property, ensuring the university operates within established federal and institutional guidelines.
The Responsibilities
Registering and organizing requests received that require a legal opinion and contributing to providing the necessary documents for their study and comparison with approved legislation.
Managing all information related to legal communication for various aspects of the work undertaken by the University.
Monitor emerging legal trends and regulatory changes that may impact higher education, advising leadership on necessary adaptations.
Providing all necessary data and parameters for studying and analyzing legal consultations considering the approved legislation of the Federal Government, and their timelines.
Contributing to providing legal opinions on cases involving the University.
Collaborate with senior management to develop legal strategies that support the university's mission and objectives.
Manage and Coordinate with organizational units concerned with policies and decision-making and gathering information to ensure compatibility with the regulations and laws of the University.
Coordinating with organizational units concerned with service development to review them and determine their compliance with laws and ensure they do not violate them.
Manage and coordinate with organizational units concerned with principles of employee rights and codes of functional conduct.
Performing any other tasks assigned by the direct manager
To carry out all tasks related to the preparation of research and studies, and to provide opinions and recommendations in this regard to the parties concerned in the University, and to study and analyze related problems
Interacts with management seeking counseling services.
The Requirements
Should possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Law from an accredited institution and Master’s degree is preferred. And a minimum of 7 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Must be bilingual with a familiarity of the UAE/Arabic collective society and culture.
Awareness and knowledge of UAE culture.
Experience working in a higher education environment.
