Due to our expansion across the Middle East & Africa, we’re looking for a Senior Manager, Development (MEA) to support our growth in North Africa, with a focus on Egypt and Morocco. 

This is a high impact role for a development professional who knows how to create opportunities, and can build meaningful relationships and network of contacts with owners, investors and institutional stakeholders. 

 

What you’ll do: 

In this market facing role, you will: 

• Work closely with the Senior Director of North Africa to support IHG’s growth agenda, identifying, sourcing and securing high quality opportunities across Egypt and Morocco. 
• Actively seeking out development opportunities including new builds, conversions, portfolio deals, and strategic brand rollouts. 
• Build a strong market network, stay updated with industry news, develop relationships with owners, developers, consultants, investment groups, and government stakeholders. 
• Assess and analyse opportunities quickly and independently, identifying site suitability, brand fit and commercial viability. 
• Working closely with the Senior team supporting negotiations end-to-end, partnering with Investment Analysis and senior development leadership. 
• Manage RFP responses, feasibility inputs, and internal approval processes, creating informative decks for presentation to the business. 
• Collaborate across IHG functions (design & engineering, operations, legal, finance) to move deals from concept to close. 
• Stay ahead of market intelligence, track competitor activity, supply pipelines, and capital appetite across North Africa. 

 

We want you to hit the ground running, drive the pipeline independently, and represent IHG confidently with senior stakeholders. 

 

 What We’re Looking For 

• Significant experience in hotel development, hospitality consulting, or real estate advisory. 
• Knowledge of franchise and managed agreements 
• Strong understanding of hotel project economics, return metrics and investment logic. 
• Familiarity with MEA markets, preferably with experience in Egypt or North Africa. 
• Able to assess feasibility, analyse opportunities, and identify suitable prospects. 
• Client facing skills and strong presentation capability 
• Language skills – written and spoken Arabic and English, French would be an advantage 
• Energetic, resilient and consultative; essential when working with institutional owners and evolving markets. 
• Entrepreneurial mindset: proactive, opportunity led and commercially sharp. 
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while remaining highly collaborative. 
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hospitality, Real Estate or Business. 
• Significant travel across Egypt and North Africa
