In this role you will work with the Head of Operational Risk and Compliance to develop, implement, maintain and monitor the Rest risk management framework across Rest’s investment function, demonstrating and embodying a sound risk culture practices.

Supporting the Head of as second in command, this role will be important in helping deliver the agenda for the Risk team, step into leadership capacity as needed, while contributing to the broader Investments function. 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Together with the Head of Operational Risk and Compliance, Investments, plan and lead key risk management activities for the Investments function.
  • Promote risk culture across the Investment team and continuously drive improvement and strengthen how risks are identified, reported and managed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders based on trust, credibility and integrity.
  • Drive the delivery of the Obligations Management process in Investments.
  • Deliver on key areas of the Rest Risk Management Framework including Risk Assessments, Controls Assurance, Incident and Issue Management, Compliance Management as it relates to the Investments team.
  • Collaborate closely with the with the second line risk and compliance team on behalf of the Investments team

Qualifications

  • Significant demonstrable experience in risk and compliance management in the financial services industry (ideally investment management and/or superannuation)
  • Proven ability to engage with stakeholders as a trusted advisor
  • Thorough understanding of, and experience of developing and implementing and reporting on, risk and compliance management tools, techniques and best practice methodologies
  • Thorough understanding of the investment management industry
  • Demonstrated ‘commercial’ approach to compliance and risk management
