Senior Motion Designer (FTC)
DEPT®DEPT® is hiring a Senior Motion Designer on a fixed-term contract in Sydney, Australia. The arrangement runs through 17 December 2026 and offers a hybrid setup that blends on-site collaboration with remote work. DEPT® describes itself as a Growth Invention company, bringing together more than 4,000 specialists across Brand & Media, Experience, Commerce, CRM, and Technology & Data. Its client roster spans Google, Lufthansa, Meta, eBay and OpenAI, and the company has been certified B Corp and Climate Neutral since 2021.
In this role you’d join the Global Studios team, where the focus is on emotive yet conversion-driven ideas delivered at scale. You’ll produce video, animation and digital creative that communicates clients’ goals and resonates across social channels, email and onsite experiences. If you like shaping ideas, collaborating across disciplines and delivering motion design outputs that help campaigns perform, this could be a strong match.
The position is based in Sydney with a hybrid working arrangement that supports collaboration with internal teams and clients across markets. If you want to shape how brands talk visually and enjoy hands-on creation, this role offers opportunities to contribute from concept through final delivery.
Making ideas move across screens
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll take the lead on multimedia questions within the team, guiding projects from storyboarding to final output. You’ll craft digital animations and edit video content while keeping outputs aligned with brand standards and delivery deadlines. You’ll source imagery and footage when needed and provide constructive feedback to teammates. You’ll protect brand integrity and help set the art direction for campaigns, contributing fresh ideas during creative reviews and drawing inspiration from the broader creative world. You’ll support teammates, work within existing templates and help create new ones, and collaborate to ensure campaigns land on time and to a high standard. When briefs require it, you’ll design static assets as well, and you’ll approach every project with attention to detail and a readiness to meet demanding timelines. The role blends hands-on production with collaboration to drive campaigns that are visually compelling and strategically on point.

Advice for applicants
Tip 1, lead with your best work: put your most relevant motion design projects at the top of your résumé, especially those that show After Effects, Figma and the full Adobe suite in action on brand or direct campaigns.
Tip 2, prove the must-haves with tangible proof: use your portfolio and brief notes to illustrate a storyboard-to-render workflow, highlight how you contributed to art direction and campaigns, and show examples of presenting ideas to clients.
Tip 3, get interview-ready with specifics: be prepared to describe a project where you steered multimedia work from concept to delivery, safeguarded brand integrity, and collaborated with teammates to meet timelines.
Tip 4, come with a thoughtful question: ask how the Global Studios balance creative experimentation with brand guardianship across a global client roster, and how the company supports ongoing development through the Dept Allowance and Learning & Development programs or the Buddy Program.
