Role: Senior Operational Risk Analyst
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Role Purpose:
- This is a Senior Operational Risk Analyst role s directly responsible for developing a center of excellence for Operational Risk Management (ORM) and will work with ORM champions to implement the ORM Framework and foster the culture of strong controls.
- This role requires a proactive and confident individual, with 7 years’ experience in Risk and banking activities, who can communicate and build strong relationships across the wider business.
Key Accountabilities of the role:
Strategy, Framework and Control Governance:
- Support implementation of the Operational Risk Management policy and procedure within ADIB Group,
- Support the businesses in and facilitate the identification and assessment of key operational risk exposures within ADIB Group In accordance with ADIB’s Operational Risk Management Framework and related procedural standards.
- Facilitate business units in the identification and root cause analysis of incidents and ensure timely documentation & communication of incidents through ORM system.
- Support the business in the management of issues and timely implementation of actions.
- Support the business units in the Key risk indicators identification and assessment.
- Support business units in booking operational losses (write-off / provision).
- Support the business in updating and monitoring Operational risk data using the Group Operational Risk Management platform.
- Support in the collation of data for regular reports/ dashboards on operational risk profiles, analysis and exposures on a regular basis.
- Support in the review of business units’ policies & procedures change management and advisory assignment.
- Central point to resolve ORM matters/ queries raised by the business Units (both system and non-system related).
Program Management:
- Support the implementation and sustainment of ORM programs and tools such as Risk & Control Self-Assessment practices (RCSA), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Issues & Action Management etc. in ADIB Group.
- Support in review of ORM policies and procedures.
Training & Awareness:
- Conduct training sessions relating to ORM policies and tools to ensure adequate understanding and awareness throughout ADIB Group.
- Provide ORM system training to business units as and when required.
Specialist skills / technical knowledge, technical competencies required for this role:
- Bachelor’s Degree. CIA, CFE or operational risk certification preferred.
- Internal or external audit experience within a Big 4 firm or in an Operational Risk Management role for a large Financial Institution.
- Working knowledge of leading operational risk practices and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Senior Management.
- Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Knowledge around various banking processes and products.
- Knowledge of Islamic Banking’s products, processes, and organization
- Computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
Previous experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years of progressive Financial Services industry experience out of which at least 4 years in Risk management or Compliance role.
