About the role
The Senior People Partner is a trusted strategic advisor to senior leaders and executives, partnering closely with client groups to shape and deliver people strategy that enables Mable’s growth, performance and culture at scale.
This role balances deep hands on execution with enterprise level thinking - operating confidently across complex employee relations, organisational change and leadership capability, while also designing and embedding scalable people programs and frameworks.
The Senior People Partner plays a key role in evolving the People function, influencing business outcomes through data, insight and strong stakeholder partnerships and acting as a role model for best practice people partnering.
This role is based in the Sydney office and is required in the office 2–3 days per week.
Key Accountabilities

Partnering

  • Act as a senior trusted advisor to Executives and People Managers, providing expert guidance across strategic and operational people matters including workforce planning, performance, reward, talent, succession, engagement, wellbeing, retention and employee relations.
  • Partner with leaders to deeply understand business strategy, operating models and capability needs, translating these into integrated, scalable people solutions.
  • Coach and influence senior leaders to uplift people leadership capability, accountability and decision making.
  • Lead complex and high risk employee relations matters end to end, including poor performance, grievances, investigations, restructures and return to work cases; providing clear recommendations aligned to legislation, values and commercial outcomes.
  • Shape organisational design and lead transformation initiatives, including restructures, role clarity and change adoption.
  • Proactively identify people related risks (engagement, retention, capability, compliance) and design evidence based interventions aligned to the broader People strategy.
  • Leverage people data and insights to inform decision making, identify trends and influence leaders through clear, compelling reporting and storytelling.
  • Ensure high quality execution of people operations across the employee lifecycle, role modelling excellence in experience, responsiveness and judgement.

Continuous Improvement

  • Design, evolve and embed scalable people programs across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance, development, engagement, reward and exit.
  • Own and continuously improve people processes, frameworks and systems to support growth, consistency and compliance.
  • Lead the development, review and embedding of people policies, ensuring clarity, practicality and alignment with legislation and organisational values.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and uplift people practices to improve manager and employee experience.

Programs and Change Leadership

  • Research, benchmark and apply best practice people initiatives to inform priorities and roadmap planning.
  • Partner with the People team to design and deliver enterprise wide initiatives (e.g. hybrid working, leadership capability, inclusion, retention, performance uplift).
  • Lead change management and internal communications for people programs, ensuring clarity, engagement and adoption.
  • Drive end to end delivery of people projects, managing stakeholders, risks, timelines and outcomes.
  • Act as a senior contributor and informal mentor within the People team, lifting capability and setting standards for people partnering excellence.

Key Relationships

  • Executives & People Managers:  Strategic advisor and escalation point for complex people matters, leadership challenges and transformation initiatives.
  • People Team:  Senior member of a collaborative team, contributing to strategy, mentoring others and driving shared outcomes.
  • Employees:  Build trust and credibility through fair, consistent and values led people practices.

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in senior HR generalist or People Partner roles, supporting client groups across the full employee lifecycle
  • Strong capability in performance management and employee relations, with sound judgement and a pragmatic, solutions focused approach
  • Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, awards and HR policies, with confidence applying these in real world situations
  • Proven experience advising and coaching people managers on conduct, performance and employee concerns
  • Experience designing, improving and embedding people processes, policies and programs
  • Comfortable operating autonomously while partnering closely with leaders and the People team
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, able to build trust with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Well developed organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Experience working in growth, change, or scaling organisations is highly regarded
