Purpose:

Worley is seeking Senior Piping Engineer based in Markham/Oakville, Ontario with experience in design and stress analysis of pressure piping system as well as piping material, fabrication, test and inspection. In Worley Canada East, you will report to Manager of Mechanical and Piping Engineering Department and you will work on various Hydrocarbon, Mineral, Mining and Metal projects, with the rest of the projects team and customers while upholding Worley’s standards for safety and technical excellence.

Responsibilities:

·       Senior level piping engineering design and analysis, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

·       Develop and maintain piping material specifications in accordance with project and client requirements

·       Collaborate in preparation of P&IDs and development of pipeline lists, ensuring alignment with process and piping systems

·       Apply expert knowledge of ASME Pressure Piping Codes and CSA Standards in design of piping system,

·       Perform advanced piping stress analysis using tools such as AutoPIPE and Caesar II

·       Design specialized pipe supports and prepare standard pipe support drawings for fabrication and installation.

·       Engineering procurement support for purchase of piping and piping components materials, piping specialty items, and valves, ensuring compliance with specifications and budge.

·       Provide technical specifications and contractor’s scope of work for piping system fabrication, testing, inspection, painting, insulation, and heat tracing,

·       Review, approve and professional engineering verification (and stamping where applicable) of detailed engineering documentation including specifications, calculations, and drawings,

·       Application for Pressure Piping Registration with the local engineering design regulatory authorities (e.g. TSSA) where applicable,

·       Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integration, schedule alignment, and regulatory approvals.

·       Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical oversight to junior engineers and design teams.

·       Participate in regulatory audits, client meetings, and quality assurance activities

·       Participate in risk assessments, design reviews, and constructability evaluations.

What you will bring:

Technical and Industry Experience: 

·       Proven expertise in piping engineering for industrial and infrastructure projects

·       Strong understanding of pressure piping codes, standards, and regulatory requirements

·       Proficiency in stress analysis software and piping design tools

·       Experience in procurement and vendor coordination for piping systems and components

·       Knowledge of fabrication, inspection, and installation practices for piping systems

·       Ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and manage complex technical deliverables

·       Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering disciplines and client interfaces

·       Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in high-stakes, regulated environments.

·       Commitment to design excellence, safety compliance, and client satisfaction.

 

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

·       Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.

·       Completion of official training programs on Piping Engineering Software considered a strong asset.

·       Valid Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license in Ontario.

Required:

·       Minimum 10 years of experience in piping engineering and piping stress analysis

·       Permission for working in Canada

 For applicants based in the province of Ontario, the salary range is $120,000 to $154,000 CAD. Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
