Job Description

The Senior Platform Engineer designs, builds, and operates Cuscal’s internal engineering platforms. The role provides secure, scalable, self‑service delivery capabilities that reduce cognitive load for product squads and streamline the software development lifecycle. The position covers CI/CD best practice, GitHub administration, AWS infrastructure engineering, Terraform automation, observability uplift, and platform onboarding automation. This role treats the platform as a product, focusing on developer experience, standardisation, clear Golden Paths, and secure‑by‑default workflows.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring 

To succeed in this role, you’ll have: 

  • Strong capability in CI/CD pipeline architecture, governance, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Extensive GitHub administration experience including policies, runners and workflow security.
  • Strong AWS engineering background including IAM, networking, ECR, ECS, and cloud‑native services.
  • Proficiency in Terraform modules, IaC automation, Git Ops patterns and environment orchestration.
  • Experience with Backstage, developer portals and service catalogues.
  • Knowledge of observability tooling including Grafana, Prometheus and CloudWatch.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across pipelines, infrastructure and platform integrations.

You will stand out from the crowd with the following:

  • Experience maintaining PCI DSS and CPS234 evidence for platform components.
