Senior Portfolio Manager/ Trader Energy (m/w/d)

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As part of our European portfolio management and trading team at BASF, you take on a senior role in managing long-term energy exposures and actively shaping strategic trading decisions.

• In your new position, you manage and optimize long-term exposure across Power, Gas and Carbon markets.
• Together with your colleagues, you develop, implement and steer complex hedging and trading strategies across European markets.
• Furthermore, you execute trades both OTC and on exchanges across a wide range of maturities and instruments while optimizing existing positions.
• Your expertise is in demand! You closely collaborate with Analytics and Origination teams and contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Not least, you ensure alignment with internal stakeholders and drive transparent and effective communication within BASF.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• degree in economics, energy economics, natural sciences or a comparable field
• at least eight years of professional experience in trading or portfolio management of energy commodities
• strong expertise in Power, Gas and Carbon markets with extensive experience in trading, hedging and advanced technical analysis; programming skills (e.g. Python) required
• very good German and English skills as well as confident use of MS Office and relevant trading tools
• analytical team player with strong communication skills, high level of initiative and a structured, strategic way of working
