Job Description

THE ENGAGEMENT

We are uplifting an existing web portal for a financial institution across mobile, tablet and desktop, alongside its native iOS and Android apps. It is a complex, high-stakes product with real users and real constraints.

You will own the design craft across every surface, from concept usability testing through to building out the UI to a high, pixel perfect standard. This is a 10 week contract, so we need someone senior who can move fast, make confident calls and deliver without heavy oversight.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design across the full product: a responsive web portal (mobile, tablet and desktop) plus native iOS and Android apps

• Run concept usability testing on the new designs and turn the findings into experience improvements

• Translate complex financial workflows into clear, intuitive interfaces

• Design high fidelity UI screens, prototypes and reusable components in Figma

• Apply platform conventions correctly, using Apple HIG and Material Design and their native components where they belong

• Keep the experience consistent across web and native without flattening either platform

• Present and defend design decisions to client stakeholders

• Collaborate closely with Bilue and client engineers, designers and delivery leads

• Real craft, holding a high standard across design thinking and pixel perfect execution, and knowing when a design is genuinely done

• A consultative approach, communicating clearly with technical and non technical stakeholders, managing expectations and flagging risks early

• A solution mindset, translating complex regulated requirements into clear, fit-for-purpose designs that balance creativity with what can realistically ship in the timeframe

• Confident decision making, setting direction, making the call and taking accountability for the outcome

• Generous collaboration, sharing your thinking openly and lifting the people around you even on a short engagement

• A drive to ground your work in real user insight, not just aesthetics

Technical Skills

• Strong, proven experience as a senior product or UX/UI designer across complex digital products

• Genuine native app design experience, with a working knowledge of Apple HIG and Material Design and their native components, and a clear sense of when to follow a platform convention and when to break it

• Responsive design across mobile, tablet and desktop, done with intent rather than by resizing

• Deep proficiency in Figma, with a strong command of design systems and component architecture

• An AI-accelerated workflow, and the ability to clearly explain how you use AI tools today to work faster and sharper, from ideation through to production

• A portfolio that shows strong design thinking and a high standard of visual execution

• Financial services or other regulated industry experience is a plus, especially where accessibility (WCAG) and trust matter
