Job Overview
The role combines strong technical execution with developing domain expertise, translating Voice of the Customer insights and market gaps into actionable product and material development initiatives. Working in collaboration with cross‑functional teams, the engineer supports the definition, evaluation, and qualification of new and existing products to ensure robust manufacturing processes and predictable product performance across the lifecycle. Operating as an individual contributor, the role emphasizes technical depth, analytical thinking and effective collaboration, contributing to business outcomes through a growing understanding of materials science, polymer technologies, processing and product behaviour.
What your background should look like
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Advanced degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
- Ongoing professional development in materials engineering, processing technologies, or quality systems.
- Strong knowledge of heat shrink tubing materials, processes, and product performance.
- Understanding of polymer systems, additives, fillers, and pigments.
- Expertise in compounding, extrusion, irradiation, cross-linking, and expansion processes.
- Significant experience in heat shrink tubing or polymer-based product engineering
- Experience leading material selection, process assessment, qualification, validation, and lifecycle support activities
- Experience managing material, process, and supplier changes with a strong focus on risk assessment
- Experience working across global manufacturing sites and cross-functional teams.
- Experience partnering with customers and suppliers on technical projects and issue resolution.
- Knowledge of engineering and quality tools including FMEA, validation planning, root cause analysis, and failure analysis
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
