About the job

At Google, we put our users first. The world is always changing, so we need Product Managers who are continuously adapting and excited to work on products that affect millions of people every day.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

The brand graph is part of the Google Shopping Graph. It is used by different teams within Google in support of end user experiences or business experiences that utilize brand data. The brand graph team works on identifying merchant brands, product brands, brand data modeling, and brand life-cycle management. We create the central brand taxonomy that goes into the knowledge graph.

In this role, you will help in defining the future of the Brand Graph to drive its strategy. This is a platform Product Manager (PM) role. You will work with engineers to create platform capabilities and a data layer to enable user facing and business facing application features. You will have cross-(PA) product area collaboration skills, communicate clearly, focus on business impact, and strive for AI-assisted productivity.

Users come first at Google. Nowhere is this more important than on our Advertising and Commerce team: we believe that ads and commercial information can be highly useful to our users if that information is relevant to what our users wish to find or do. Advertisers worldwide use Google Ads to promote their products; publishers use AdSense to serve relevant ads on their website; and business around the world use our products (like Google Shopping, and Google Wallet) to support their online businesses and bring users into their offline stores. We are constantly innovating to deliver the most effective advertising and commerce opportunities of tomorrow.

Responsibilities

  • Define the goal and strategy for the Brand Graph as part of the Google Shopping Graph.
  • Anticipate and determine brand-related shopping graph capabilities.
  • Understand cross-PA expectations and manage cross-PA collaborations related to the Brand Graph.
  • Work with the development team through design, launch, and post-launch monitoring stages.
