This is an opportunity to take a leadership role in the delivery of a large scale project, working with a major customer and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

 

Joining our project team working on the Auckland Airport Project and provide strong leadership across the project team, customers, partners, contractors and other key stakeholders. You will bring the commercial judgement, leadership capability and strategic perspective required to navigate complexity, manage competing priorities and drive successful delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership across, creating clarity, accountability and alignment across multidisciplinary project teams

  • Manage project financial and commercial performance, including budgets, forecasting, contractual obligations, risk, change and opportunities to protect and enhance project outcomes

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with customers, partners, contractors and senior stakeholders, effectively navigating competing priorities and maintaining alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Proactively identify and resolve commercial, operational and delivery risks while maintaining focus on key project objectives

  • Maintain strong oversight of project performance, ensuring effective governance, risk management, reporting and timely escalation of critical issues

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the project team, fostering collaboration, accountability and a strong focus on commercial and delivery outcomes

Profile required

About you

This role would suit an accomplished project professional with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering projects. You will be a strong and credible people leader who can bring together multidisciplinary teams, establish clear expectations and drive accountability and performance across the project. You will also bring:

 

  • Significant experience in a Senior Project Management role, leading the delivery of large-scale projects with accountability for project performance, commercial outcomes, multidisciplinary teams and successful end-to-end delivery

  • Experience within Baggage Handling Systems, Materials Handling, Automation, Infrastructure or Engineering environments would be highly advantageous

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering is preferred, with Mechanical or Electrical disciplines particularly relevant

  • PMP Certification

  • Experience working within consortium or joint venture environments would be advantageous

  • Strong financial, contractual and commercial capability, with experience managing substantial project budgets, risk, change, forecasting and overall commercial performance.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage effectively at all levels.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to establish credibility and trusted relationships with customers, partners, contractors and senior stakeholders, including navigating challenging conversations and competing commercial priorities
