Purpose:

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager. Our team includes world-class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Sudbury, Ontario.

Our business is growing, and we need additional experienced people to join our team! The successful candidate will be planning, coordinating and managing the EPCM projects in the Mining, Minerals and Metals (MMM) Unit. 

The candidate will lead project planning and execution to meet contractual obligations, ensuring alignment with client objectives, budget targets, and Worley’s policies, while providing strong HSE leadership and supervising personnel through project leads. They should possess broad business acumen, the ability to design innovative technical concepts, and effectively drive organizational change within project scope, often serving as a proposal manager.

Responsibilities:

  • HSE Management - Ensures compliance with all HSE procedures and that HSE requirements are documented and understood by all project participants.
  • Client Relationships - Identifies, documents, and communicates client requirements. Effectively manages multiple stakeholders and maintains/develops healthy client relationships throughout the project and post-completion. Proactively resolves performance, scope, cost, and schedule issues with the Client as they arise.
  • Commercial Management - effectively manages the project according to Worley/Client contract.
  • Scope Management - manages an effective handover from the Business Development Group. Clearly defines the area scope and compliance with the requirements of the contract. Effectively manages change control process application, project interfaces, including the use of High Value Engineering Centers. Manages and monitors area performance to identify issues and opportunities early and seize opportunities to take pre-emptive action.
  • Time Management - Manages the planning of all scope elements of the project. Develops resource and financial requirements from the project plan. Manages the design, procurement, and construction activities to meet the project schedule. Routinely monitors the key reports and development of corrective action plans. Achieves timely and effective documentation turnover at project close-out.
  • Cost Control - Plans and prepares accurate project estimates. Establishes cost reports for control of projects. Monitors and controls all cost aspects of the project, including forecasting costs, obtaining approvals, identifying trends and taking action to avoid cost overruns and identifying opportunities. Continual assessment of the performance of the cost control system and personnel.
  • Quality Management - Defines the project quality requirements according to the overall Project Quality Program. Ensures the right systems are in place and applied on the project. Develops a project schedule for a project which allows work to be executed in logical sequences. Ensures compliance with Worley policies and procedures.
  • Team Management - Provides clear and focused leadership for the project team to create a vision for project success and a strategy to fit that vision. Focuses on the achievement of milestones and other key project objectives. Provides mentoring and participates in staff performance evaluations.
  • Communications Management - Ensures accurate and timely progress reporting to the client and internally to Worley management. Ongoing monitoring of the communication network between project staff, the client and third parties and introduction of changes where required.
  • Risk Management - Identifies project risks and opportunities. Monitors the closure of all identified risks and opportunities.
  • Design Management - Sets clear objectives for the design team. Ensures the design team is aware of and complies with the client's Basis of Design and applicable regulations and codes. Monitors design activities, interdisciplinary data flow and communications.

     

What you will bring:

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Proven capability in the management and promotion of safety across all project phases.
  • EPCM delivery experience within the mining industry.
  • Senior-level supervisory, project management, and technical experience in mining and heavy industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, cost management, and scheduling principles.
  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
