Nice to have Unreal Engine, API testing, or ISTQB CTEL. We’re seeking a Senior QA Analyst to act as a quality leader on the Palia Gameplay team. You’ll drive quality activities and practices, design and implement process improvements, craft test suites from scratch, and help to ensure that our teams hit a high quality bar for Palia. As a member of the Gameplay team, you'll help the team bring the world of Palia to life through the creation and implementation of housing, maps, and other core systems that players experience every day.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive our quality strategy & practices as an embedded member of our development team(s)
  • Craft test plans and test cases from project documentation and hands on investigation
  • Test games & software while holding the player perspective in mind
  • Help drive the dev team towards our quality bar in a collaborative manner
  • Strategize with developers on how to build quality into our development practices
  • Highlight risks and clearly communicate with the team on the state of quality
  • Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to the game
  • Contribute to team process and culture, helping evolve best practices in planning, testing, code review, documentation, and communication.

Who You Are

  • Established Expertise: Proven track record as a QA Analyst or Tester, demonstrating a deep understanding of quality assurance methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
  • Studio Integration: Substantial experience working directly within internal game development teams, collaborating closely with engineers, artists, and designers.
  • Live Operations: Direct experience navigating the unique challenges of a Live Service environment, including rapid deployment cycles and real-time player feedback loops.
  • Effective Communication: Skilled at translating complex technical or systemic concepts into clear, actionable documentation and verbal briefings for diverse audiences.
  • Mission-Driven: Deeply invested in the craft of game development and motivated by the goal of delivering high-quality, player-centric experiences.
  • Deep Product Empathy: Maintains a strong, current understanding of gaming trends and player expectations through active engagement with the medium.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in cozy, community sim, or multiplayer games.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine
  • API testing experience
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Expert Level (CTEL) or equivalent certifications.

Salary Information:

The base salary range in the Vancouver Metro Area for a Senior QA Analyst position is $85,000 - $100,000 (CAD) annually. Base salary will be determined by role, level, and location. The range listed for each job is the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the positions in the Vancouver Metro area. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors. Please discuss your specific salary expectations for your preferred location during our interview process.

  • Aligned to core Pacific Coast hours (10:00am - 4:00pm PT)
