We’re looking for a Senior Safety Engineer to join our New Zealand Safety & Risk Engineering  team; to complement and build on our capability across New Zealand industry sectors.

As a Senior Safety Engineer, you’ll work closely with clients, lead projects, mentor junior team members, and provide technical expertise in safety in engineering design and catastrophic risk management. This role offers the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the safety of our client’s people and facilities in a collaborative environment.

Our Safety & Risk Engineering team is mighty. What you’ll do

The role responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing relationships with clients.
  • Scoping and leading safety and risk engineering studies.
  • Providing safety and risk technical leadership in the design, construction, and operational phases of projects. 
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation. 
  • Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver to each client’s unique needs.

What you’ll have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Process, or a technical discipline); advanced qualifications are a plus. 
  • Relevant experience in technical safety, risk, or process safety. 
  • Proven expertise in operational environments and lifecycle management of complex assets. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand, preferably already established in New Zealand.
