Callista seeks a Senior Solution Architect AWS for a full-time on-site Basel role to design, migrate, and consolidate a large-scale sensor data platform for clinical trials on AWS. You’ll own end-to-end cloud architectures, data ingestion and processing for streaming and batch workloads, ensure secure, compliant designs, and collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver scalable, cost-efficient solutions. Must have a BS or MS in a technical field, extensive hands-on AWS experience, and strong Python and SQL; nice-to-have CSV frameworks (for example GAMP5), regulated-industry experience, and AWS certifications. Start between March and December 2026, hybrid work. Tips: tailor your CV with quantified outcomes, highlight migration and data pipelines, emphasize regulatory and security expertise, and prepare architecture diagrams to discuss trade-offs.

Join a high-impact consolidation project at a global pharmaceutical company, designing, implementing, and migrating a large-scale sensor data platform for clinical trials. The platform supports the ingestion, storage, processing, and analysis of high-frequency sensor data.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design end-to-end cloud architectures on AWS for a large-scale sensor data platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance in a clinical trial environment.

  • Lead and support the consolidation of existing systems, including the migration of high-volume, high-frequency sensor data to a unified AWS-based platform.

  • Define and guide data ingestion, processing, and storage patterns for streaming and batch data, ensuring efficient handling of large sensor datasets.

  • Work hands-on with engineering teams to implement architectural designs, provide technical guidance, and ensure best practices are followed throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Ensure solutions comply with cloud security standards, data protection requirements, and regulatory expectations relevant to clinical trials and pharmaceutical environments.

  • Design and review solutions with a focus on performance, cost efficiency, and scalability to support growing data volumes and analytical workloads.

  • Collaborate closely with data engineers, software developers, quality, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

Requirements

Requirements (Must-Have):

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related technical field, providing a solid foundation in system architecture, data management, and software design

  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services, including designing, deploying, and operating scalable, secure cloud architectures

  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including data ingestion, processing, storage, and optimization of large-scale data pipelines

  • Proficient programming skills in Python and SQL, with experience developing, optimizing, and maintaining data-driven and cloud-based solutions

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with CSV frameworks (e.g., GAMP5)

  • Previous work in regulated industries

  • AWS certifications
