Job Description

What You'll Drive

Structural Design & Analysis

  • Lead the structural design and technical development of permanent and temporary works packages across a diverse portfolio of projects including marine structures, buildings, stadiums, industrial facilities, water and wastewater treatment plants, and infrastructure works.
  • Perform advanced structural calculations and engineering assessments for reinforced concrete and steel structures, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and review structural concepts, design methodologies, and engineering solutions from feasibility through detailed design stages.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, calculation packages, and engineering justifications to support design submissions and approvals.
  • Conduct structural analyses using advanced FEM software, including linear, non-linear, staged construction, and time-dependent analyses where required.

Marine & Specialist Structures

  • Deliver structural designs for marine and coastal infrastructure such as jetties, berths, quay walls, marine platforms, and associated facilities.
  • Apply specialist knowledge in marine structural engineering while contributing to a broad range of non-marine projects when required.
  • Evaluate complex engineering challenges and propose innovative, practical, and cost-effective solutions suitable for construction.

Design & Build Engineering

  • Support Design & Build projects by integrating engineering solutions with construction methodologies, sequencing requirements, and project constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with construction teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable, and aligned with project execution strategies.
  • Provide engineering support during tendering and project execution phases, including design planning, quantity assessments, technical risk reviews, value engineering, and constructability studies.

Coordination & Technical Leadership

  • Coordinate with project teams, consultants, architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure efficient delivery of design packages.
  • Participate in and lead technical meetings, presenting engineering solutions and communicating key design considerations to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and knowledge sharing across the department.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, design standards, and technical best practices.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of structural design experience.
  • Proven experience in structural design and analysis of concrete and steel structures.
  • Strong background in marine and jetty structures is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing structural calculations, technical reports, and FEM models.
  • Experience on Design & Build projects is essential.
  • Exposure to temporary works design is considered an advantage.
  • Experience across multiple structure types such as buildings, stadiums, marine works, industrial facilities, water treatment plants, and infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Prior Middle East experience is preferred.
  • Candidates must demonstrate willingness to work on a broad range of structural projects and not be limited to a single area of specialization.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong expertise in reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
  • Advanced knowledge of structural analysis principles and FEM modelling.
  • Proven ability to prepare technical reports, design calculations, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong understanding of international design codes including Eurocodes, ACI, British Standards, and related industry standards.
  • Proficient in structural engineering software such as SAP2000, ETABS, IDEA StatiCa, and other relevant FEM tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexible mindset with willingness to work across different structural sectors and project types.
