Senior Technical QA Analyst

Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Hybrid)

About the Role

As a Senior Technical QA Analyst at Artificial.Agency, you will be the primary guardian of our Behavior Engine’s stability and performance. You aren't just looking for crashes; you are building the in-engine tests required to validate how our AI agents interact with complex game worlds. Working as an embedded member of the internal development team, you will build sophisticated test environments that stress-test our platform, ensuring that every new feature is production-ready and technically sound before it ever reaches a user.

Responsibilities

  • In-Engine Test Authoring: Use Unreal Engine Blueprints and the Functional Testing Framework to build automated test scenarios that validate AI agent behaviors.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Go beyond surface-level reporting. Use the Unreal Editor, Visual Logger, and Blueprint Debugger to pinpoint whether a bug lives in our platform, the customer’s implementation, or the AI’s logic.

  • Strategic Test Planning: Lead the creation of technical test plans for non-deterministic AI behaviors, LLM-driven interactions, and complex agent workflows.

  • Tooling & Automation: Create Editor Utility Blueprints and validation scripts to assist both our internal team and our customers in verifying data assets and AI configurations.

  • Feedback Loop: Partner with Product and Engineering to translate new defects and regressions into platform-wide hardening requirements and features.

  • Reporting: Create reports that allow us to track, triage, and fix issues as the platform is actively being developed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional experience in AAA/AA game development with multiple shipped titles.

  • Strong proficiency using the Unreal Engine; experience with additional game engines is a plus.

  • Advanced Blueprints: Proven ability to build logic in Blueprints to facilitate automated testing.

  • Test Architecture: Expertise in designing and implementing modular, reusable test frameworks that can be scaled across different agents and environments

Behaviors

  • Collaborative: Works effectively with designers, artists, engineers, and external stakeholders.

  • Customer-focused: Balances technical goals with business and customer needs.

  • Leadership-minded: Guides and mentors peers while fostering a culture of quality and accountability.

  • Adaptable: Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple ongoing projects.

  • Innovative: Curious about new technologies and eager to integrate them into workflows.

  • Ownership-driven: Takes responsibility for outcomes and follows through on commitments.
