Wētā Workshop is hiring three Senior Technicians: Molding for a 4-6 month fixed term in Wellington, onsite at Miramar, full time. You’ll design, fabricate and maintain complex molds for props, prosthetics and creatures, and run advanced molding processes including silicone (platinum and tin), urethane, fiberglass, epoxy and composite molds with rigid mother molds. You’ll assess sculpts and 3D prints to determine the best strategy, mentor junior technicians and collaborate with sculpt, casting, finishing, paint and production teams to meet deadlines. Requirements: five+ years in professional mold making (film, TV or themed entertainment), expert materials knowledge and safe practices, strong workflow understanding; leadership experience is a plus. We have some exciting projects on the horizon, and we’re looking for three Senior Technician/s – Molding to join the team for a 4-6 month contract (depending on the project timelines).
A role which combines technical excellence and problem-solving, shaping the way we build complex molds and supporting fellow makers.
