Service Technician

 

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out minor periodic service and preventive maintenance in accordance with MG Guidelines and IEM SOPs.
• Repair or replace worn, damaged, or faulty vehicle parts as per the assigned job order.
• Perform Vehicle Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) in accordance with manufacturer and company standards.
• Use approved vehicle diagnostic scanning tools, including VDS, to read, identify, and erase fault codes.
• Assist Repair and Diagnostic Technicians with vehicle repairs and technical diagnosis as required.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and identify mechanical or technical issues to ensure vehicles are safe and fit for operation.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills through formal training and technical learning to keep up with evolving automotive technologies.
• Maintain an inventory of standard technician tools and ensure all tools are available and in good working condition.
• Provide clear and accurate write-ups of tasks performed, including relevant observations and recommendations.
• Immediately report any safety-related concerns or critical vehicle issues to the superior.
• Clock in and out of assigned job orders in accordance with standard company procedures.
• Coordinate with the Workshop Controller regarding vehicle status and liaise with the Parts Advisor to obtain the correct parts required for repairs.
• Follow instructions from the superior and comply with company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Maintain company assets, tools, equipment, and other resources in good working condition.
• Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the superior.

Role Purpose

To ensure vehicles are serviced, maintained, inspected, and repaired to the highest standards in accordance with MG manufacturer guidelines, IEM SOPs, and company quality requirements. The Service Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship, identifying and resolving vehicle issues efficiently, supporting the diagnostic and repair team, and ensuring vehicles perform safely and reliably before being returned to customers.

What We're Looking For

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in automotive servicing, vehicle maintenance, or a similar technical role.
• Experience in periodic vehicle servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Hands-on experience in repairing or replacing worn and faulty vehicle components.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience in vehicle inspection and fault diagnosis is preferred.
• Previous experience in an automotive dealership or authorized service center is an advantage.

Education:

• High Diploma in Automotive Mechanics or a related technical discipline.

Certification(s):

• Brand Advanced Technician Qualification Certification is required.
• Additional manufacturer technical certifications or automotive technical training are desirable.

Languages:

• Fluency in English is preferred.
• Arabic language skills are an advantage.

Software & Technical Skills:

• Computer literate with the ability to use basic computer systems and workshop-related applications.
• Knowledge of automotive diagnostic scanning tools and equipment.
• Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic systems, including VDS, is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand job orders and technical repair instructions.
