Shared Support Services keeps Auckland Council Group running behind the scenes, delivering the administration, event coordination, project support, and financial processing that help teams focus on delivering for Tāmaki Makaurau.

As a Shared Support Services Graduate, you won't just observe, you'll get stuck in, contribute to real work, and see how local government operates at scale. Your Rotations
Your rotation may consist of:

•    Provide professional administrative support – helping prepare reports, presentations, and business documentation that keep teams running smoothly
•    Get hands-on with events and projects – assisting with event planning, coordination, and business improvement initiatives that make a real difference
•    Support financial and records processes – gaining exposure to financial processing, document, and records management across the business
•    Build meaningful connections – developing relationships with stakeholders across Council and becoming a trusted go-to person
•    Grow your skills – building confidence in data, reporting, and business systems while sharing fresh ideas to improve how we work

Each rotation will provide a healthy mix of formal learning, on-the-job learning, mentoring from experienced professionals and meaningful work.

We're looking for a proactive, motivated, and detail-oriented graduate who is eager to learn and contribute meaningfully. You'll enjoy working with others, managing multiple tasks, and finding ways to improve how things are done. 

You'll bring: 
•    Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
•    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across a range of audiences
•    A collaborative approach, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
•    The ability to manage competing priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment
•    A proactive and adaptable mindset, demonstrating curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn

You must have:
•    A minimum of a relevant Bachelor’s degree 
•    Eligibility to work in Aotearoa New Zealand for more than 4 years without sponsorship
•    Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Commerce, International Relations, Political Science or relevant
