In Christchurch, the team is expanding and is looking for a Site Manager to join the local crew and lead on-site operations. The role is based onsite in Christchurch and suits someone who likes hands-on leadership and collaborating with a wide range of trades and support staff to keep everything moving safely and to a high standard.

The role calls for a practical, collaborative site leader who can coordinate materials, manpower and equipment, maintain productive on-site sequences, and drive quality and safety across large building projects.

Site Management Responsibilities in Christchurch

On a day-to-day basis, the Site Manager helps plan and sequence on-site activities, coordinating materials, equipment, personnel and handling plant so work flows smoothly. They work with the Project Manager and Senior Site Manager to allocate the necessary site staff and resources, ensuring everything needed for the project is available when required. They regularly review the construction programme with the Senior Site Manager and adjust sequencing as needed to hit the programmed completion date. They also ensure the company’s policies on safety, industrial relations and quality assurance are applied and monitored, and that quality standards and contract documents are met throughout the build.

The Right Candidate for the Christchurch Site Manager Role

• Degree/Diploma in building/construction, or other recognised tertiary or trade qualification in a construction related field.
• Demonstrated experience supervising trades on large building projects.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment.
• Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
