About the Role
We are looking for dynamic and experienced individuals to join our Queenstown Snowsports team as Operational Leads for the 2026 winter season. This key leadership role supports the delivery of exceptional lesson experiences while ensuring seamless, efficient day to day operations across our mountain environments.
Reporting to the Queenstown Snowsports Experience Manager, you’ll be part of one team operating across Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. This role requires working at both locations and being able to operate on either mountain as needed throughout the season.
A relentless focus on delivering an outstanding customer experience is crucial. You’ll be highly visible on the snow, actively supporting daily operations and contributing to a positive, safe, and memorable atmosphere for both guests and staff. The role also includes delivering on snow and indoor training to ensure the team is equipped to perform at their best, including on disrupted days.
Effective communication is a key part of the role. You’ll use Teams and radio communication to coordinate with instructors and schedulers, helping ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining on snow support for guests and the wider team.
About You
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, problem solving, and management skills. They will have a solid understanding of business needs and the ability to drive key performance indicators associated with this role. A proactive approach to adopting new operational processes is essential to enhance the performance and efficiency of the Snowsports team. They will embody NZSki’s vision and values, communicate clearly with leadership and instructor teams, and demonstrate strong on snow leadership in all aspects of the role.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
• Current Membership to the New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance or foreign equivalent i.e. BASI, PSIA/AASI, PSIC, CSIA/CASI, AMSI, IASI, APSI, DDS, OSSV, ENSA
• Level 3 (equivalency) Certification in a Snowsports discipline or a high understanding and track record in providing world-class guest experiences.
• 5+ seasons instructing or coaching experience.
• Previous Snowsports management or leadership experience.
• The Legal right to work in New Zealand i.e. NZ or AUS Passport, NZ Working Holiday Visa, NZ Permanent Resident, Specific Purpose Work Visa or you would need access to an Accredited Employer Work Visas if eligible and required by NZSki.
Desirable Qualifications and Requirements
• 8+ seasons instructing and coaching experience.
• Have worked as a Trainer in a Snowsports school.
• Current Trainer/Examiner with an international snowsports association.
