Engelhart is seeking a Python Software Engineer with around five years’ experience in a commodities trading environment to join its Engineering team in London, onsite. This role offers high autonomy, direct exposure to stakeholders and end-to-end ownership—from requirements and design to production deployment and ongoing support. You’ll design and evolve in-house systems, partner with Risk, Finance and Front Office, and build data visualisations using Python libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Plotly), APIs with FastAPI, and AWS services (Lambda, Step Functions, Cognito, ECS Fargate, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, CDK) in a containerised environment. Strong analytical, collaborative, and mentoring skills are essential; desirable: event-driven architectures and AI tooling. This is an exciting opportunity for a Python Software Engineer with approximately five years of experience to deepen their current expertise in commodities trading, while becoming a key member of our Risk, Finance & Compliance technology function within the Engelhart Technology team.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy and offering direct exposure to stakeholders & business users, this role will give someone the opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of initiatives, from requirements gathering and solution design through to production deployment and ongoing support.
