Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale data processing pipelines and tools (e.g., Flume, SQL).
  • Experience with anti-abuse systems, fraud detection, or security.
  • Experience with AI driven development and Agentic workflows.

As a Software Engineer on the Google DeepMind Abuse team, you will be at the forefront of protecting Google DeepMind's Generative AI products from misuse. You will design, build, and scale account-centric detection systems within the GenAI Safety Platform, ensuring a safe experience for millions of users while enabling the full potential of our AI models

You will be working on a mission-critical team at the intersection of Generative AI and abuse fighting, one of the most dynamic and challenging fields at Google. Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain components of our account-centric abuse detection systems on the GenAI Safety Platform.
  • Develop and implement classifiers to identify policy-violation and abusive behavior in near real-time, leveraging account-level signals.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to integrate detection systems with enforcement mechanisms like strikes and limited disabilities.
  • Analyze data to understand abuse patterns and improve the effectiveness of our detection methods.
  • Write and test production-quality code, and participate in code reviews.
