YouTube Knowledge is a 100 engineers and Program Manager (PM) team in Paris, that works on understanding and organizing YouTube's corpus, helping Search and Discovery to continue driving YouTube's strong growth. The team works on: Kapla, Semantic content understanding, Knowledge Platform and GenAI Features. You will work on a variety of challenges including infrastructure, complex algorithms, data mining, and machine learning including Large Language Models (LLMs) and GenAI. We process data sets at YouTube scale. You will apply those techniques to improve impactful products from YouTube including Home, Search, Recommendations and vertical experiences. You cover both infrastructure and data quality, and work on a number of exploration projects. Most of the team's work directly impacts YouTube's top priorities including Responsibility, Families and Strategic Initiatives.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

France: €82000 - €84500 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
