We're looking for a Software Engineer – Full Stack to help design, develop, and maintain full-stack software applications for our next-generation Cytology products. This role involves hands-on development across the technology stack, from front-end interfaces built with React and TypeScript to back-end services and databases using .NET and MSSQL. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to help translate requirements into robust, maintainable solutions, growing their skills through design discussions, code reviews, and collaboration with senior engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, implement, and improve full-stack software applications
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern web technologies (e.g., TypeScript, React, .NET)
  • Take ownership of software features and components under the guidance of senior engineers, from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and documentation
  • Participate in design discussions and contribute ideas on tradeoffs and best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and apply feedback on coding standards, design patterns, maintainability, performance, and security
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues across the full technology stack
  • Support software testing and release processes
  • Document technical processes and contribute to project documentation
  • Participate in the software design lifecycle: help interpret requirements, contribute to solution design, implement features, test thoroughly, and document your work
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in software development

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent plus 3+ years of related experience or MS plus 1+ years of related experience
  • Experience developing, testing, and deploying full-stack software applications
  • Requires prior experience working in an integrated, cross-functional team environment
  • Growing understanding of software development lifecycle practices, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, verification, deployment, and maintenance
  • Medical device experience a plus

Required Skills

  • Technologies: TypeScript, C#, .NET, WPF, Python, PowerShell, MSSQL
  • Tools: Visual Studio, GitHub, JIRA, Code Review Tools
  • Platforms: Windows Desktop / Server, Azure / Google Cloud Platform
  • Knowledge of React or a similar frontend framework
  • Knowledge of UI design principles, prototyping, and user-centered design practices
  • Knowledge of software design patterns, object-oriented design, microservices, and full-stack application architecture
  • Knowledge of DICOM, HL7, or other interoperability standards a plus
  • Knowledge of OpenSeadragon or other deep zoomable image viewers a plus
  • Knowledge of GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools a plus
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environments

The annualized base salary range for this role is $86,800 to $135,700 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
