Workyard is a fast-growing venture backed startup that is developing an innovative workforce management platform for the construction market. In an industry where $300 billion is spent annually on labor, we are fundamentally changing the experience for companies and workers by adding trust, transparency, and technology to workforce management and enable smarter business decisions.
The Growth team wants to dramatically improve the activation of Workyard customers. We believe that our best chance to achieve this is to ideate and iterate on the activation experience with a dedicated team of people who each care deeply about getting to the truth of the fastest way to deliver value to our customers.
This Front End Engineer role exists to help us validate customer centric ideas fast - primarily this relates to helping new customers experience the value of our product as fast as possible. To do this we need a Software Engineer who can move fast and stand up experiments in a small team that address these ideas in the most efficient way possible.
This is a hybrid role: 2 days in our offices in Sydney (Surry Hills), and 3 days remote.
Responsibilities
Work within our Growth team to experiment, iterate fast and drive confidence in our prioritisation of ideas
Transform the technical elements of a test into a minimum viable test
Spot the shortest technical path to validate an idea
Implement tests with analytics in mind
Help prioritise the running of experiments based on your knowledge of the effort required to develop and ship an MVP
Requirements
3-5 years of experience in full stack web development. We use TypeScript (React) and PHP (Laravel) but any mix of languages and a desire to learn is great.
Experience in a startup/scaleup environment is essential
Experience working in an autonomous pod that ships independently of the broader company direction
Ability to prioritise investment in handling edge cases versus shipping a test

B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
Unfortunately, we're not able to sponsor for this role, so we can only consider candidates with full working rights in Australia.
