Ballantynes in Christchurch is seeking a permanent full-time Sous Chef to join the Hospitality Team, working across the Tearooms Production Kitchen and Kin Bistro with a minimum 32 hours per week, including one weekend day and occasional late nights. The ideal candidate will have experience in a busy kitchen, preferably at Sous Chef level, with strong production and stock management and high standards of hygiene and presentation. Baking skills and knowledge of local and regional products are a plus, as are excellent communication, time management, and a flexible approach to cafe offerings. The Production Kitchen produces food for our iconic Tearooms, The Ballantyne Home Kitchen Range and Retail Pantry. This kitchen produces high volume and quality products in a varied and fast paced environment.
Kin, our sixty seat Bistro, offers a modern seasonal menu throughout the day and is the venue for regular in-house events such as The Breakfast Club, Books and Bubbles, fashion and products launches throughout the year. Plenty of variety on offer throughout the department for a talented Chef to join our great team.

Working alongside a great team, this is a permanent opportunity with a minimum of 32 hours per week. This includes flexible hours, with a minimum of one weekend day a week with the occasional late night to cover exciting in-house events.
