Job Purpose
The Specialist Civil/Structural Engineer will provide specialist-level technical expertise and engineering support for Civil and Structural engineering activities on ADNOC Offshore projects during the FEED, EPC, fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning phases. The role is responsible for reviewing EPC Contractor deliverables, ensuring compliance with ADNOC specifications, international codes, project requirements, quality standards, and HSE regulations while supporting successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist Civil and Structural engineering support throughout FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning phases.
  • Review and approve EPC Contractor Civil and Structural engineering deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, material requisitions, and technical reports.
  • Review structural analysis and design for offshore facilities including jackets, topsides, decks, bridges, modules, pipe racks, equipment foundations, and support structures.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, international codes, and engineering best practices.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, model reviews, and technical workshops.
  • Review structural load calculations, foundation design, fatigue assessments, transportation, lifting, and installation analyses.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Pipeline, Marine, Geotechnical, and Construction disciplines.
  • Support procurement activities through technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and material approvals.
  • Review fabrication, transportation, offshore installation, and commissioning methodologies.
  • Identify technical risks and provide practical engineering solutions to ensure safe and cost-effective project execution.
  • Provide technical support during site visits, fabrication yards, offshore construction, and commissioning activities when required.
  • Monitor engineering progress and ensure timely resolution of technical queries (TQs), site queries (SQs), and engineering change requests.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedule, quality requirements, and HSE objectives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the Civil/Structural discipline.

Minimum Qualifications &Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent, from an accredited university; or a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry. 
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects. 
  • ADNOC & Offshore project experience is required
  • PMC experiences are preferrable. 
  • Proven experience in FEED and EPC phases of large Offshore projects us required
  • ADNOC Offshore PMC project experience is required
  • 5+ yearsGCC project experience is preferred

     

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of offshore structural engineering principles.
  • Experience in structural design of jackets, topsides, decks, modules, equipment foundations, pipe racks, and steel structures.
  • Knowledge of offshore transportation, lifting, installation, fatigue, seismic, blast, and accidental load analysis.
  • Familiarity with international standards including:
    • ADNOC Standards
    • API
    • DNV
    • ISO 19902
    • AISC
    • Eurocodes
    • BS Standards
  • Experience using structural engineering software such as:
    • SACS
    • STAAD.Pro
    • SESAM
    • ANSYS
    • AutoCAD
    • Navisworks
    • MS Office

  • Offshore platforms, Wellhead Towers, Jackets, Topside facilities, Bridges, and Modular Structures.
  • Experience supporting offshore fabrication yards, hook-up, commissioning, and offshore installation activities.
  • Familiarity with ADNOC Engineering Standards (AES), Specifications, and Project Management Systems.
