Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The candidate will support Risk & Control activities and is expected to harness a strong Process Control, Risk and Governance framework covering all Group Credit functions globally. This will include critical business/process reviews, completion of RCSAs, review operational and audit incidents, SLAs, validate the closure of issues and drive enhancements to build effective controls. Roll out the Risk & Control dashboard for the Division on a monthly basis, tracking and highlighting all Risk & Control metrics. Track all DLP incidents across Group Credit and ensure there are no data leakages.
Act as a SPOC for all Internal audit, external audit, and Central Bank queries, report requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Risk & Control Governance:
- Support the team to build a Risk and Control Governance framework across all Group Credit functions (UAE & International)
- Support all Risk & Control related activities including Audit, Compliance, Credit Risk (IFRS9, UAE provisions, etc.), OPS, Risk, Fraud Risk, etc.
- Support all External Audit and Central Bank related queries. Coordinate with all HOCs to collate feedback on queries raised on a timely and efficient manner
- Roll out a monthly Risk & Control Dashboard for Group Credit and its cuts for each department
- Track all Audit issues/recommendations and ensure that the respective HoCs comply to and close all audit points within agreed timelines
- Track all Operational Incidents and ensure that necessary corrective actions are taken to eliminate such issues
- Track all DLP incidents across the Group Credit and insure there are no data leakages
- Ensure each unit carries out a detailed RCSA process with periodic testing. Also ensure each unit had a detailed BCP plan in place
- Carry out ad-hoc risk assessments, process reviews/deep-dives, identify process deficiencies, and implement changes to circumvent any issues
Business Management:
Strategy & Business Planning:
- Track and monitor the Group Credit Balance Scorecard (BSC), and review all the KPIs on an ongoing basis to ensure all targets are on track. Work with all HoCs to ensure their contribution to the BSCs are in line with plan
- Acts as the aggregator of all activities across Group Credit
Financial Management:
- Tracks and monitors cost of all OPEX and CAPEX initiatives, and ensure that the financial benefits are fully realized according to plan
Reporting & Communication
- Support the Division by developing key MIS for performance management
- Roll out regular presentations/dashboards
- Build ad-hoc reports & presentations for GCCO for events, town halls, management meetings
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
- 3 to 4 years’ work experience in Strategy, Business Management, Transformation, preferably within the financial services industry, or with a consulting firm
- Knowledge of the banking sector across Corporate & Investment Banking, Retail Banking, Private Banking & Wealth, Islamic Banking, etc.
- Strong background in Credit Risk Management, Business/Data Analytics, Portfolio Management
- Advanced skills in Excel and other data analytics platforms
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
- Exceptional communications, both written and verbal. Ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences. Ability to develop advanced level presentations that summarize strategic/transformation initiatives, objectives
- Pro-active, self-motivated, with proven ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Demonstrated ability to drive strategic change management including structured, hypothesis-driven solutions, and formulation of actionable recommendations
- Strong influencing, negotiation skills; demonstrated success in building credibility and strong relationships with peers and key stakeholders
