Job Purpose
The Specialist HVAC Engineer is responsible for providing specialist engineering support for the design, review, coordination, and execution of HVAC systems for offshore oil and gas facilities. The role involves ensuring that all HVAC engineering activities comply with ADNOC standards, international codes, project specifications, safety requirements, and project quality objectives throughout the FEED and EPC phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and review HVAC engineering deliverables for offshore oil and gas facilities during FEED and EPC phases.
- Review contractor HVAC designs, calculations, specifications, equipment data sheets, and technical bid evaluations.
- Ensure HVAC systems comply with ADNOC standards, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, API, ISO, and other applicable international codes.
- Review HVAC load calculations, ventilation studies, equipment sizing, duct routing, pressurization philosophy, and smoke management systems.
- Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil/Structural, Architectural, Safety, and Construction disciplines to ensure integrated engineering solutions.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Constructability, Model Reviews, and Design Reviews.
- Review vendor documents and provide timely technical comments and approvals.
- Support procurement activities by reviewing technical queries, bid evaluations, and vendor offers.
- Provide technical support during construction, installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Review engineering changes, deviations, concession requests, and technical clarifications.
- Monitor engineering progress, identify risks, and recommend mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
- Support FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and project handover activities.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers when required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineering certification or Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent, from an accredited university; or a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in the GCC region is required
- Proven experience in both FEED and EPC project execution.
- Offshore project experience is required
- ADNOC offshore experience is required
- Previous experience in a PMC environment is preferred.
