• You’ll be at the heart of American Airlines’ Integrated Operations Center (IOC), serving as the first point of contact for critical security events and ensuring the safety of our global operations. This role offers the unique opportunity to make real-time decisions that protect passengers, employees, and assets while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that operates 24/7/365. • This role is a part of the Security Operations team within the Operations group.
• Monitor global security events and assess reported incidents to determine appropriate action, escalation, and response
• Serve as the first point of contact for all critical security events and coordinate response efforts across the company
• Provide real-time security guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders during operational events
• Prepare and disseminate daily security briefs and incident notifications to maintain situational awareness
• Manage internal and external watch lists and inhibit passenger tickets as needed to mitigate risk
• Represent Corporate Security during emergency activations and interface with local, state, and federal agencies
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and external government stakeholders
• Operate in a 24/7/365 environment, requiring adaptability, critical thinking, and decisive action under pressure
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
• High school diploma
• Fluent in English (Read, Write, Speak)
• Work experience in one or more of the following areas: Airport/Airline, Operations Center (such as GSOC), Security, Law Enforcement
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
• Fluency in a second language
• Airline and/or operational security experience
• Experience with SABRE RES, DECS and/or QIK
• GSC certification
• Advanced degree and/or training, especially in emergency management or aviation
• Leadership/Supervisory experience
