ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Staff Accountant in Phoenix, full-time onsite. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.  Experience with JDE ERP systems and OneStream would be helpful.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:

  • Readies and maintains financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles, that include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice.
  • Utilizes knowledge of the fundamental doctrines, theories, principles, and terminology of accountancy, and often entails some understanding of such related fields as business law, statistics, and general management.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts
  • Manage fixed asset records and reporting
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes to meet deadlines
  • To ensure timely preparation and submission of financial and management reports
  • Prepare and upload financial results to Head Office reporting systems
  • Support filings and other regulatory compliance requirements
  • Assist Sales reporting and forecasting activities
  • Assist with city and state sales tax filing and TRIP reporting
  • Monitor and help implement associated internal controls in support of Internal Audit
  • Assist with internal and external audit requirements
  • Perform ad-hoc work assigned by a manager

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. 

Education and/or Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting with strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end result reporting.
  • Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems
  • Experience with AR/AP is plus

 

Computer Skills

Proficiency in spreadsheets, email, word processing, and presentation software; extremely proficient in financial modeling and analysis, utilizing Excel formulas. Experience or understanding Excel add in applications like OneStream. Database programs and business intelligence programs like Power BI, and Business Objects is helpful. OneStream and JDE system experience will be useful.

 

Language Ability

  • For business and safety reasons, ability to write reports and business correspondence in English and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, technicians, and assemblers in English.

  • Effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders
