Synechron Sydney is seeking a Data Engineering Lead with strong expertise in data streaming, AWS EMR, and PySpark to support large-scale data migration and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable data pipelines, migrating workloads to cloud platforms, and enabling advanced analytics for enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development
Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using PySpark and AWS EMR.
Implement real-time data streaming solutions with tools such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Spark Streaming.
Develop ETL/ELT workflows for structured and unstructured data.
Cloud Migration
Lead and support data migration projects from on-premise to AWS cloud.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance during migration.
Platform Engineering
Deploy and manage big data workloads on AWS EMR, S3, Redshift, DynamoDB, and Glue.
Collaboration
Work closely with architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of experience in data engineering with strong migration project exposure.
Hands-on expertise in PySpark, AWS EMR, and big data frameworks.
Experience with data streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, Spark Streaming).
Strong knowledge of AWS services (S3, Glue, Redshift, DynamoDB, Lambda).
Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes for data workloads.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS certification (Data Analytics Specialty, Solutions Architect).
Experience in BFSI or enterprise-scale migration projects.
Exposure to event-driven architectures and real-time analytics.
Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and compliance frameworks.
