Reapit is seeking a Staff Engineer - Full Stack to lead a .NET and React delivery team for the Move Me In platform in Milton, Australia. You’ll own end-to-end retailer integrations from authentication to status reconciliation, guide design and code reviews, and contribute hands-on across .NET backend and React front ends while helping modernise toward .NET 8/10. This is a hands-on leadership role, coordinating with external retailer teams, Product, QA and DevOps and Security, and driving performance, CI/CD and secure practices. To apply, highlight 7+ years .NET experience, prior tech leadership, strong API design and React expertise, cloud experience, and delivering production features end-to-end for a fixed-term contract through July 31, 2027, aligned with Reapit values and flexible working.

Reapit – Who are we?

Reapit is the original, end-to-end business technology provider for estate agencies of all sizes. We’ve been helping sales and lettings agents to build relationships and grow their businesses for more than 25 years. Our technology connects property professionals in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand with buyers, sellers, tenants and landlords to power the relationships that change lives.

In Australia, Reapit stands as the preferred technology choice among the nation's leading estate agents and agencies. Tailored to the unique demands of the Australian property market, Reapit provides successful leaders with unparalleled tools across sales, property management, client relations, and data analytics, reinforcing their position at the pinnacle of real estate excellence.

Reapit’s Move Me In product is Australia’s leading independent utility connection service. We help movers compare and connect electricity, gas, internet and related services, and we take that work out of the tenancy process for real estate agencies. We have connected 400,000+ Australians since entering the market, through direct integrations with the country’s major energy retailers. Our next phase is bringing new energy retailers onto the platform, and that is the work this role exists to deliver.

What you’ll be doing

The platform is a mature .NET codebase that spans .NET Framework 4.8 and .NET 8, with .NET 10 adoption underway. The web applications are built with .NET Razor and Blazor, with React the primary front-end technology across our integrations and modernisation efforts. Your core work is delivering the retailer integrations, supporting BAU operations, and modernising the areas you touch as you go.

Reporting to the Associate Engineering Director, the Staff Engineer will lead a team of .NET developers and a QA engineer and will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality solutions across the stack. This is a hands-on first role: .NET is the primary specialism, you contribute genuinely to the React front ends that our customers use every day, as well as the existing Razor and Blazor applications, and you lead through delivery, code review and technical decisions.

Retailer Integration & API Delivery:

  • Orchestrate and lead the design and production of new energy retailer integrations for the Move Me In platform, • extending our existing onboarding framework where a retailer’s integration demands it.

  • Be the main technical contact for external retailer engineering teams to facilitate integration work across the boundary.

  • Own the full lifecycle of an integration - authentication, product data, eligibility rules, order submission, status reconciliation and error handling.

  • Support and extend existing integrations with energy retailers, including new products, changed commercial terms, and performance improvements.

  • Design, build and maintain the backend services and APIs in .NET/C# that sit behind those integrations.

Web Application Delivery:

  • Build and maintain both public facing and internal web applications in React, and in the existing .NET Razor and Blazor applications, with a focus on performance and maintainable component architecture.

  • Deliver the front-end work a new retailer needs - plan comparison and selection, sign-up fields, validation, and internal-facing screens.

  • Lead React development across our integrations and tech stack modernisation projects.

  • Work closely with Product to translate requirements into clean, well-tested UI implementations.

  • Champion React front-end engineering conventions - component reusability, state management patterns, testing practices, and design system adherence.

Delivery & Quality:

  • Own complex tickets end-to-end - specs, implementation, test coverage, code review and production rollout. Drive team participation in code review and AI documentation to build knowledge and leave a decision trail.

  • Hold accountability for the quality and timely delivery of team output and manage the flow of work. Work with Product, QA, DevOps and Security to refine requirements and slice work for the sprint.

  • Lead analysis, research and estimation of development effort, and improve estimation accuracy. Run technical investigations and coach the team to do the same.

  • Own incidents and team issues and decide the course of action. Keep stakeholders updated and run blameless investigations with material outcomes.

  • Use and improve the CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable deployments. Move .NET Framework 4.8 code towards .NET 8 and .NET 10 where it makes sense alongside delivery.

  • Apply security and compliance best practices daily - secure coding, and handling of data and secrets.

Who we're looking for

At Reapit, we prioritise hiring individuals who share our values and possess the right attitudes and behaviours for success. Whilst some of the listed requirements may be important, don’t worry if you don’t meet all of them, we’d still like to hear from you.

Experience:

  • 7+ years commercial experience with .NET.

  • Previous experience leading a development team or acting as technical lead.

  • Strong experience in .NET backend development as well as React front-end development – Blazor or Razor experience is well regarded but not essential.

  • Extensive experience delivering production features end-to-end.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with .NET 8+, .NET Framework and ASP.NET, including API design, service development and production support.

  • React proficiency, including component design, state/data management patterns, modern front-end tooling and maintainable UI architecture.

  • REST APIs and distributed system concepts.

  • Relational databases, such as MSSQL.

  • AWS or Azure Cloud services, infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.

  • SOLID design principles and a deep understanding of modern software design practices.

  • Strong experience translating business requirements into technical requirements and communicating technical information to a non-technical audience.

  • Ability to use existing documentation and squad knowledge of the tech stack to lead change appropriately, with sound risk and change management.

  • Hands-on experience with AI-enabled development practices and tooling, and the judgement to apply them safely in a production codebase.

Nice to have:

  • Blazor or .NET Razor front-end experience.

  • Experience with Entity Framework, both Framework and EF Core.

  • Experience with either the real estate or energy industries.

  • Production-grade testing practices across front-end and backend.

What your impact and success looks like

As this is a fixed-term contract engagement running to 31 July 2027, we’re looking for someone who can ramp quickly and deliver from early on.

First 1-3 months:

  • Have a working local environment across the .NET services and the web applications, be reading the codebase unsupported, and be asking informed technical questions in code review and planning sessions.

  • You will build understanding of the product, architecture and engineering practices.

  • Be shipping code independently on moderately complex tickets, including changes to existing retailer integrations, with minimal need for senior support.

3-6 months:

  • You will be leading the team’s response to incidents and collaborating closely with Product and other teams to clarify requirements and flag scope or sequencing risks early.

  • Effectively managing the prioritisation of the team’s BAU development work against the delivery of the external retailer integrations.

  • Working independently on complex features end-to-end, spanning services and front-end where needed, and delivering measurable value against the engagement’s priorities without requiring extended ramp-up support.

  • You will have a strong command of the retailer integration architecture and the web applications in front of it and will be flagging integration risks before they become blockers.

  • Independently owning a new retailer integration end-to-end, from API contract through implementation and testing to production readiness, with minimal senior oversight

Beyond 6 months:

  • You will have delivered at least one new energy retailer into production, with the monitoring and documentation the team needs to support it, and you will continue delivering further retailers.

  • You will own the technical direction for the project's hardest and most ambiguous problems, including the parts of the system nobody has fully untangled yet. Advising teams on approach and holding final decision-making authority on how they're solved.

  • You will define and steward architecture, patterns and engineering practices, and will build capability across the team by spotting skills and knowledge gaps and working with the team to close them.

  • You will be ensuring a smooth handover of your work - with up-to-date documentation and knowledge sharing so the team can build confidently on what you’ve delivered after your contract ends.

We operate a Flexible Working Policy and you are free to determine where you work from, be that from home or in the Brisbane office, and how often but we certainly recommend a balance.
