SEEK is hiring a Staff Platform Engineer to lead GenAI and ML efforts within the AI Platform Services team in Cremorne, onsite, full-time. You will own the technical strategy for multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP), build scalable AI tooling with Python, Terraform and Kubernetes, and ensure observability and reliability while partnering with Data Scientists to support self-service model development and deployment. You’ll drive cross-team initiatives, shape the roadmap to align with SEEK’s AI strategy, and coach engineers toward safe, reliable delivery. Teams are cross-functional, multi-disciplinary squads that work within an APAC matrix organisational structure. The AI Platform Engineering teams have a specific mission to provide shared infrastructure, governance, and reusable assets that empower AI and product teams to experiment safely, ship faster, and continuously deliver intelligent, differentiated experiences at scale.
You will work with roles across the engineering spectrum from graduate to lead level, including Software Engineers, Engineering Managers, Heads of Engineering, Software Architects, Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Platform Engineers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Iteration Managers.
About the role
A Staff Platform Engineer is a technical lead and senior member within our AI Platform Services (AIPS) Engineering teams. You'll be responsible for the technical strategy and direction of SEEK's GenAI and ML Platforms, ensuring these systems are highly available, resilient, and enable AI innovation at scale. Embedded within a team, you'll lead cross-team technical initiatives that influence AI platform strategy across AIPS and SEEK more broadly. Your primary focus is designing and building AI platform solutions that enable Data Scientists, Engineers, and product teams to deliver AI-powered experiences rapidly and safely. You bring in-depth technical understanding of AI platform infrastructure, multi-cloud architectures (AWS, GCP), and the operational requirements of GenAI and ML systems, while driving alignment of your team's technical roadmap to SEEK's overall AI strategy.
