Teck Resources is hiring a temporary Steam Bay Attendant at Red Dog Operations in Alaska. This on-site, two weeks on-site two weeks off-site, fly-in fly-out role reports to the HE Shop Supervisor and centers on safety, cleaning and prep for preventive maintenance, and keeping the shop organized with clear shift handoffs. You’ll follow MSHA and Red Dog EMS safety rules and perform daily hazard inspections. A high school diploma, physical stamina for demanding work, and a team oriented attitude are important; a willingness to learn and strong safety practices are essential. Role Overview

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a temporary Steam Bay Attendant. Due to anticipated needs, we are currently recruiting for a career oriented individual to fill this role.

Schedule will be 2 weeks on-site, 2 weeks off-site

Reporting to the HE Shop Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Cleaning of various equipment and prep work for preventative maintenance (PM) and repair work
• Perform general shop clean up tasks such as emptying oil containers, emptying trash, sweeping floors, removing boxes, replacing dirty glove and rags with new ones, completing tank dips in oil mezzanine and overall organization of shop
• Communicate effectively with other operators, colleague and supervisor about assigned tasks and ensuring carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shift
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as complies with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensures daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazards
• Ensure compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures and advises coworkers and visitors of such policies and procedures as required
• Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in mining, mill or related environment is preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding work
• Team player with a positive team attitude
• Willing to learn while demonstrating safe work practices
