The Stockroom Lead oversees the daily operations of the stockroom, ensuring the accurate receiving, storing, and issuing of materials used to manufacture grapple trucks, knuckle boom loaders, and related equipment. This role drives production efficiency by helping a team of clerks, maintaining strict inventory control, optimizing material flow, and upholding safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Coordinate daily stockroom activities, train new staff, and assign tasks to ensure timely material distribution to production.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee ERP/MRP transactions, conduct cycle counts, perform physical audits, and investigate discrepancies to maintain high accuracy.
  • Material Flow: Supervise the receiving, stocking, and staging of parts, ensuring materials are readily available for production schedules.
  • Quality & Safety: Ensure materials are labeled, packaged, and stored according to company and OSHA requirements.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) and maintain forklift certification.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with production, purchasing, shipping, and quality departments to resolve shortages and optimize warehouse organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of warehouse, inventory control, or material handling experience in a heavy equipment, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • System Skills: Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Physical & Environmental: Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 30 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Current Forklift Operator Certification.
  • OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
