Bellroy is opening its first owned store in Melbourne and needs a Store Manager to shape the rituals, standards and energy, coach a small Carry Guides team, and make real time decisions from open to close. You’ll be writing the retail playbook, not inheriting one, so bring 5+ years in retail with leadership, a talent for coaching, documenting new standards in merchandising, stock and service, and a calm, decisive manner under pressure while driving sales and a standout customer experience. In your application, share concrete leadership wins, how you’ve built teams and systems, and your product curiosity aligned with Bellroy’s values. Research bellroy.com, show you understand our B Corp approach, and tailor your CV to Melbourne on weekends and evenings.
IN A NUTSHELL…
We've spent over a decade building a brand people genuinely love – online, through our products, and in the way we show up in the world. Now we're doing something we've never done before; opening our first Bellroy owned store.
This is a big deal for us – it brings everything that Bellroy stands for into a physical space. An energising, design-focused place where customers can engage with our products, try them on and uncover the nitty gritty from our seasoned Carry Guides. And we need someone to lead that experience – our first Store Manager. That’s where you come in.
You'll be the person who helps shape what our stores become. The rituals, the standards, the energy. You'll coach a small team, make real-time calls when things get busy or tricky, and model the kind of customer experience we want to be known for. You'll open the doors in the morning and lock up at night, trusted with the keys to something we've been dreaming about for years.
If you've ever wanted to help write a retail playbook (rather than inherit one) – this is the role for you. We're looking for someone who gets energised by firsts, finds joy in the details and who wants to help us prove that retail can be done differently.
As a certified B Corp, we care about more than sales. We care about impact on the planet, our crew and now on the people who walk through our doors. You'll be joining a company that's thoughtful about how it operates and a team that's genuinely excited to see what this new chapter looks like.
YOU COULD BE THE ONE IF YOU HAVE…
Even if you don't tick every box above, if you're excited by the idea of helping us figure out what a Bellroy store should feel like, we'd still love to hear from you.
IN YOUR FIRST FEW WEEKS, YOU’D LIKELY…
WHAT’S IN STORE AFTER THE LAUNCH…
LOCATION & HOURS
This is a full-time role based at our Melbourne location. You'll need to be available for a mix of shifts, including weekends and some evenings. As the Store Manager, you'll be trusted with opening and closing responsibilities.
