Avenue Living seeks a four month temporary HSSE and Insurance support role onsite in Calgary from May to August 2026 to assist the HSSE and Risk teams. You will organize documentation, support incident reporting, assist with audits and training records, update policies and safety initiatives, and prepare management reports while coordinating with finance to keep data current. This is a four-month temporary position from May – August 2026. This position will directly support our Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) team and our Insurance and Risk team.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Maintain and organize HSSE and insurance documentation, records, policies, and data within corporate systems.
  • Support incident reporting by compiling documentation, tracking follow‑ups, and identifying opportunities for process or system improvements.
  • Assist with HSSE audits, inspections, training records, certifications, and overall compliance tracking.
  • Contribute to updates of HSSE policies, procedures, and safety‑awareness initiatives across the organization.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to HSSE and insurance for management review.
  • Support the maintenance and quarterly update of the corporate Statement of Values, ensuring accurate data and premium allocations.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure insurance information is current and aligned with corporate guidelines.
  • Support SVPs of HSSE and Insurance & Risk with special projects and cross‑functional initiatives.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post‑secondary program in Occupational Health & Safety, Health Sciences, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, self‑regulate, and prioritize in a fast‑growing, dynamic environment.
  • Interest in health & safety, compliance, insurance, and/or risk management.
  • Customer service experience and a willingness to learn on the job are highly valued.
