As part of the Summer 2026 internship season, we are seeking civil engineering interns to join various divisions, including the Buildings, Transportation, Energy & Resources and Infrastructure teams.
During the selection process, you will have the opportunity to meet with our teams to identify the types of projects that best match your interests and career aspirations.
The Buildings team designs high-quality structures and is involved in all stages of projects, from planning to construction. It stands out for its innovative engineering solutions and expertise in high-performance projects across Canada.
The Transportation team delivers a wide range of projects in both urban and rural settings, including the planning, design, and reconstruction of road infrastructure. It adopts a sustainable approach that integrates all modes of transportation to improve mobility and safety.
The Energy & Resources team designs and modernizes energy and industrial infrastructures, including electrical networks, power plants, and production facilities. The team contributes to the development of sustainable, efficient solutions tailored to clients’ needs and supports the entire project lifecycle, from planning to commissioning.
The Infrastructure team supports municipalities and developers in the design, assessment, and improvement of essential networks (drinking water, wastewater, drainage). It provides solutions tailored to local needs while meeting schedules and budget constraints.
Main Responsibilities
As a civil engineering intern at CIMA+, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to projects within your host team. Depending on the department (Buildings, Transportation, Infrastructure, etc.), your responsibilities may include:
Assist with design and technical drawings: participate in the preparation of plans, drawings, specifications, tender documents, and technical requirements.
Perform preliminary calculations and analyses: e.g., sizing, modeling, and technical verifications in accordance with applicable standards and requirements, under the supervision of engineers.
Support project coordination and document management: assist with multidisciplinary coordination, updating project files, and administrative and technical follow-ups related to projects.
Prepare or contribute to technical reports and documentation: drafting reports, presentations, project documentation, data compilation, and technical notes.
Profile
Currently registered in Civil Engineering Undergraduate degree
Proficiency with design and calculation tools
Interest in one of the sectors and related projects
Knowledge of civil engineering design standards and codes
Autonomous, detail-oriented, proactive, curious, and eager to learn
Knowledge of software such as MS Office, AutoCAD (an asset), Civil 3D (an asset)
Excellent ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
