CRH Canada’s Dufferin Concrete is hiring a Summer Student in Operations for a two to three month contract (July to August or September 2026) onsite in the Greater Toronto Area, with compensation of $18.00 to $22.00 per hour. You will test aggregate materials, load materials into ready mix trucks, add 12 kg bags of ice to trucks, maintain daily communication with the operations team, perform general aggregate laboratory duties, and follow all health and safety directives while supporting managers and supervisors. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a diploma or degree in civil, construction, mechanical or environmental engineering technology or similar; must have a valid G driver's license; be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds; comfortable outdoors, traveling to plants, and working in varied weather; and be flexible for overtime, nights and weekends with strong analytical, map reading, computer and teamwork skills. What you will do:

  • Testing of aggregate materials
  • Adding material to Ready Mix Trucks
  • Adding 12kg bags of ice into ready-mix trucks. 
  • Daily communication with operations department
  • General aggregate laboratory duties
  • Follow all necessary health & safety directives in accordance with legislative and CRH requirements
  • Assist Managers & Supervisors with other assigned work as required

 

Educational Criteria

  • Enrolled in Diploma or Degree in Civil, Construction, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering Technology or any similar field

 

Working Conditions

  • Field/Lab environment
  • Travel to plants and job sites
  • Physical ability to lift up-to 50 pounds
  • Working outdoors and varied temperatures and weather conditions
