The Supervisor, Accounting is responsible for leading and supervising the accounting function of the Residential division. The position will oversee the bank reconciliation process, manage the treasury operations, and ensure the smooth operation of utility accounting. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills, a focus on process improvement, and the ability to collaborate with multiple internal teams.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions across Canadian and US operations.
  • Manage reconciliation processes, investigating and resolving discrepancies while maintaining accurate general ledger balances.
  • Lead month-end and year-end accounting activities, including accruals, journal entries, account analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and auditors to support effective financial operations and compliance requirements.
  • Provide leadership, training, and development to team members while promoting cross-functional knowledge sharing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses for leadership and support other duties as required.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement, systems implementation, or automation projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Yardi Voyager would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
