About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to lead the electrical maintenance function for a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising maintenance activities across CNC machines, Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), and associated production equipment, ensuring maximum equipment reliability, availability, and operational efficiency.

This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring strong expertise in CNC controls, PLC systems, servo drives, industrial automation, and electrical troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily electrical maintenance activities for CNC machines, SPMs, and related production equipment.Lead preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedules and OEM recommendations.
  • Assign and supervise technicians, ensuring timely response and resolution of equipment failures.Conduct and support root cause analysis for recurring and major electrical breakdowns.Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC control systems, PLCs, electrical panels, HMIs, and machine interfaces.Supervise maintenance of servo drives, spindle drives, motors, encoders, sensors, and feedback systems.
  • Ensure safe and reliable operation of CNC axis control systems, tool changers, pallet changers, and machine sequence controls.
  • Monitor and maintain electrical power distribution systems including MCCBs, MCBs, contactors, relays, transformers, and control components.
  • Ensure effective troubleshooting of PLC I/O systems, sensors, solenoids, relays, interlocks, and control circuits.
  • Supervise inspection and maintenance of machine safety systems, including emergency stops, safety relays, and interlocks.
  • Coordinate machine installation, relocation, commissioning, and reinstallation activities from an electrical and controls perspective.
  • Monitor equipment performance indicators and recommend reliability improvements to enhance machine availability and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, breakdown reports, inspection results, and spare-parts consumption using SAP or a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Coordinate with OEM service providers, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, LOTO procedures, quality requirements, and company standards.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC control systems, PLCs, servo systems, spindle drives, motors, encoders, sensors, electrical panels, and industrial control circuits.
  • Strong understanding of electrical drawings, control circuits, PLC I/O systems, machine safety circuits, and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, breakdown management, root cause analysis, TPM, and equipment reliability principles.
  • Understanding of maintenance planning, spare parts management, maintenance KPIs, MTTR, MTBF, and machine availability.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and safe maintenance practices.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience maintaining CNC machines, SPMs, industrial machinery, PLCs, electrical control systems, drives, motors, and automation equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or senior technician role with responsibility for managing maintenance technicians and activities.
  • Demonstrated experience planning manpower requirements, allocating maintenance work, monitoring completion, and coordinating activities with Production and other departments.
  • Proven experience diagnosing complex electrical faults and leading corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Experience supervising preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment.
