The Supplier Table Engineer (STE) for Manufacturing at Stellantis is responsible for all aspects of the Supplier Table process and Supplier Table Inspectors.

The Supplier Table Engineer reports to the Plant Quality department and will build effective relationships with both Salaried and Hourly, Assembly Plant and Corporate teams. They will lead projects, validate product conformity on suspect material, proactively ensure components meet specifications, and improve outgoing quality that will exceed the customers’ expectations.

This position will work closely with Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, and Supplier Operations. With unquestioned integrity and strength of conviction, the STE responds to manufacturing quality issues on the shop floor, establishes immediate containment and works with suppliers to establish long term containment and corrective actions to ensure robust issue resolution. Through the usage of problem solving, the STE supports all continuous quality improvement initiatives by working collaboratively within cross-functional manufacturing teams and facilitates consensus from the key stakeholders.

 

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Utilize Supplier Table Inspectors to respond to material issues 
  • Coach and assist Supplier Table Inspectors with sorting and documentation of all supplier nonconformance issues 
  • Manage and ensure all Supplier Table Tracking and Process documents are maintained 
  • Assist Supplier Operations through monitoring of Stellantis systems for permanent corrective action and issue closure 
  • Validate and complete all nonconformance tickets for accuracy 
  • Review GD&T, gaging, and part inspections for part conformity 
  • Provide technical support between Engineering and Manufacturing for internal quality concerns 
  • Coordinate proactive inspections on critical components driven by historical failure modes to ensure parts are to specification 
  • Display effective communication skills (presentation, analysis, studies) to support meetings and audits at all levels of the company, including senior leadership 
  • Provide daily leadership, direction, and oversight to hourly Supplier Table Inspectors, ensuring effective execution of inspection activities, proper documentation of nonconformances, adherence to quality standards, and consistent application of containment processes

Compensation:  The salary range for this role is $75,000-$95,000.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university (other Engineering degrees, in combination with relevant experience may be considered) 
  • Effective presentation/public speaking skills 
  • Experience with problem solving tools 
  • Able to demonstrate both coaching and teaching 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Self-motivated leader, directed, high energy, hands on individual with integrity 
  • Ability to thrive in a high intensity environment while working on multiple projects 
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Advanced degree in a technical field 
  • Reactive Green Belt / Black Belt 
  • Previous experience working in an automotive manufacturing unionized environment 
  • Supplier operations or experience working directly at a supplier to the automotive industry  
  • Leadership experience (supervisory/management/team leader/project management)
