Thrive Group’s AbleLiving Services in Binbrook, Hamilton, is hiring full-time and part-time Support Service Workers to handle housekeeping, laundry, meal prep and client support in a home-like setting. Part-time shifts run 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm; note the location is not transit accessible and a vehicle is required. Requirements include a Grade 10 education (preferred), the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate within 60 days, reliability and good time management, and the physical ability to lift and stand. Starting pay is $18.21/hour under CUPE, with HOOPP, health benefits, education and tuition support, EAP, and a $500 signing bonus. This position reports to the Support Services Program Coordinator and is responsible for a variety of tasks including laundry and housekeeping services, food services and prep-cook responsibilities. This position is responsible for collecting, laundering and returning clients' personal laundry, performing housekeeping tasks in clients' rooms and common areas, assisting the Cook with maintaining food inventory, meal preparation, and setting and serving meals to clients, all while ensuring safe food preparation and handling practices.
