In this role, you'll:

Conduct routine site inspections and assist with more complex surveillance activities on road and bridge projects delivered on the state road network under the Roads Maintenance Council Contracts (RMCCs). Support the delivery of maintenance and construction works, ensuring they are completed on schedule, meet quality standards, and remain within scope.

You will join the Regional Road Network Maintenance - Project Services North team, working across the Hunter Region on a range of road and bridge construction projects.

The Surveillance Officer will also be responsible for:

• Conducting routine surveillance to ensure work meets required standards, specifications, and processes.

• Monitoring and influencing partner progress against milestones and deliverables to support program outcomes.

• Assisting with preparing and reviewing project and contract documentation to support effective delivery.

• Recording surveillance activities accurately and timely to maintain auditability and traceability.

• Representing the Agency on site, applying delegations, and supporting delivery partners in real time.

• Providing technical advice and escalating issues to engineers and managers to support best practice delivery.

This is an ongoing full-time opportunity based in the Hunter Region. We welcome applications from candidates across the Central Coast, Newcastle, and Hunter Valley areas. The role involves regular travel throughout the region, along with designated office days at your preferred office location.
