Chicago Public Schools is seeking Part-Time Aides to help supervise students during non-instructional times at the Southwest Side site (Monarcas Academy, 5815 South Homan Ave). The role is on-site and limited to 3.75 hours per day, with duties that include monitoring during lunch and recess, study halls during non-instructional minutes, in-school suspensions, student entry and exit, and general supervision around the building. A high school diploma or GED is required, with one year of experience supervising children in an organized setting preferred. You should be able to follow written and oral instructions and district policies. Part-Time Aides

position can be used to assist with the supervision of students during non-instructional activities before, during, and/or after the school day. Part-Time Aides can work for the school, but for no longer than 3.75 hours each day.
DUTIES OF PART-TIME AIDES
Some examples of duties that can be performed by Part-Time Aides include assisting with supervision of students:
• During lunch and/or recess period(s)
• During study halls (to only be held during non-instructional minutes)
• During in-school suspensions
• During student entry/exit
• In and around the school building
Part-Time Aides cannot take on the duties of other clearly defined school-based positions, including but not limited to teacher’s assistants, instructional assistants, special education classroom assistants, children’s welfare attendants, security guards or aides, clerks, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Part-Time Aides must have the following qualifications:
• High school degree or GED equivalent (required)
• One year of experience in the supervision of children in an organized setting (preferred)
• Ability to work with and for school children
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to learn and follow school and district policies, procedures, and expectations.
